Our story
Marsden Social Club (also known historically as the Marsden Socialist Institute) has been part of village life on Manchester Road for well over a century.
The club’s roots are tied to Marsden’s long tradition of community organising. Records note the Marsden Socialist Club formed in 1911, with the foundation stone laid by Victor Grayson, the Socialist MP for Colne Valley.
In 2024, the club was re-registered under the name Marsden Social Club, marking a fresh chapter and a renewed commitment to securing a strong future while better reflecting its role as a welcoming social club for all members.
Today we carry that same spirit: a friendly place to meet, take part, and enjoy the best of local entertainment.
What you’ll find here
We’re a proper local club — come in for a relaxed pint, a catch-up, and a calendar that stays busy through the year.
From live entertainment nights to regular games, teams and socials, there’s always something going on.
We’ve also got a bigger room for events, nights with music, and community get-togethers — ideal for birthdays, celebrations and local groups.
